Are you a Washington student passionate about career and technical education? If so, the Washington Award for Vocational Excellence (WAVE) could be your gateway to success! Recognizing the outstanding achievements of career and technical education (CTE) students, WAVE is a prestigious merit scholarship program that selects up to 147 winners annually, with three awardees from each state legislative district.

Key Details:

When to Apply?

The WAVE application is now open on the WashBoard portal. Don't miss out on this chance to propel your education and career forward!

Application Deadline:

The application period closes on March 10, 2024. Ensure your submission is completed well before the deadline.

Financial Support:

For Spring 2024 awardees, the scholarship is generously funded, offering up to $3,850 per year for two years, totaling about $7,700. The amount may vary based on your institution's tuition and fees. WAVE winners enjoy a three-year window to commence using their awards, but act fast – funding is limited!

Who's Eligible?

  • Community and technical college students attending one of Washington’s 34 public institutions, with at least one year of a professional-technical program under their belts.

Application Process:

Step 1: Create a WashBoard Seeker Account on the WashBoard Portal. This account is your gateway to the WAVE application.

Step 2: Download two essential forms - the CTE Certification/Recommendation Form for your CTE instructor and the Letter of Recommendation Form for a reference familiar with your community service, work, and volunteer activities.

Step 3: Complete the WAVE application within the WashBoard Seeker Account. Follow the five-step process outlined for a seamless application.

Please Note: Transcripts are a vital component of the WAVE scholarship application.
